December Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month we went to Trolley Square.  At Trolley Square, and ate at The Old Spaghetti Factory.  Then we got to see Santa there.  I asked him for a remote control truck or car.  It was fun there.

After that we went to Temple Square to see the lights.  We got to go inside the visitors center and look at some models of the temple.  There was something to show us around the temple.  It was a computer.  I had a lot of fun there.  

We had a ward Christmas party.  We ate there.  And my brother Eric was in the program as the boy from Polar Express.  Our cousins the Sintay's were here in town and got to go to it with us.  After I helped clean up.

We had a party at Aunt Melissa's house.  We ate there and played games there.  We played musical chairs, bingo, ring toss and pin the nose on the snowman.  My cousin who had me this year was Sean and he got me a Nerf gun that could shoot one, two, three or four bullets at once.  You can store 8 bullets in it.  I also got a Star Wars floor puzzle.  The shape of it was Darth Vadar.  

For Christmas Day I got in my stocking sugar free gum, sugar free candy and goldfish.  Santa must know that I've taken off sugar.  I also got a CTR ring and a stuffed monkey that I named Cutie.  Santa brought me a remote control car and mom and dad gave me Benny's Space Ship LEGO set!!! SPACE SHIP!!  I built Benny's Space Ship in one day.  It's awesome!!

I got my brothers Nerf guns for Christmas.  We like to have Nerf wars.

We've gotten lots of snow this month.  So Dad pulled us in the sleds behind the 4-wheeler.  We have been doing snow ball fights and building snow fortresses.

We went to Aunt Amy's for Christmas dinner.  We also got presents.  Grandma Chris brought me a Broncos hat and a shirt.  I love the Broncos!!

For New Years Eve we went to Airborne.  We had fun jumping and playing tag.  I met a friend who was a teenager who liked the Broncos too.

November Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month it was Thanksgiving.  We had a ward turkey bowl on Thanksgiving morning.  It was the Elders against the Young Men.  I was on the team with my dad.  It was fun.  Even though I didn't get the ball that much.

We went to Aunt Melissa's house for Thanksgiving dinner.  I ate turkey, pineapple, crackers and I totally forgot what else.  It was fun.  We played with toys with our cousins.  I played football with my cousin Tyler.  And we also had fun with our Aunts and Uncles and Grandma & Grandpa.  

We went to Gardner Village to see the elves.  We had fun finding elves and taking pictures.  They had the Naughty & Nice list there and I was on the Nice list (phew!!).  

I am having fun at school with my friends and at home with my friends and brothers.  I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.  And I hope you have a happy Christmas.  Bye Bye!

October Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  This month we had Conference.  I took notes with my brothers from the Conference talks.  I really liked the talk from President Monson.

We went on a drive to see the fall colors up American Fork Canyon.  We had so much fun.  We got to see an old mine.  Me and my brothers climbed up to the top.  And we got to see beautiful colors when we were up on the mountain driving home like yellow, red and those colors.  We went to Cafe Rio after.  We had such a fun time.

We went to Gardner Village in our costumes one day.  We were all nerds.  I like the witch hunt there. We found a lot of witches.

We also went to our cabin.  We painted pumpkins there with Grandma Ginger.  I painted a purple minion. Eric painted a yellow minion.  Brandon painted a super penguin.

We had our family Halloween party.  We ate doughnuts off a string but I ate an apple off of a string because I don't take sugar.  It didn't work out that well.  I had to rip it off of the string to eat it. Gobble gobble gobble!

This month was sad.  My great grandma died.  She was 90.  My cousins came in town for the funeral and got to stay for Halloween.  We had her funeral on the 29th.  We had her funeral at a church but it's kind of happy because she will get to see my mom's mom, her husband and her parents.  She was buried in Alpine, Utah.  It was a cold day but at least we didn't get rained on.  When we got back to the church we ate.  This was a sad day but we knew grandma was happy.

We carved pumpkins at our Crazy Uncle Ryan's house.  He's crazy!  He names his pumpkins.  We like to carve pumpkins with him.

We went trick-or-treating with our cousins and some friends.  

I got lots of candy.  Since it was a holiday I got a sugar cheat.  I got to eat 6 pieces of candy plus all my sugar free snacks.  The rest of the candy went to my brother Brandon who didn't trick-or-treat because he's too old.

September Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  This month on Labor Day weekend we went to our cabin.  We had lots of cousins up there that weekend.  We spent a lot of time up at Aunt Ginger's cabin and it was fun on our 4-wheeler rides and our hikes.

We did art with our art sets.  It was a painting.  I drew a cool picture.  I had so much fun.

We also played football at the cabin.  I played flag football last spring and I enjoy playing football with my family.  

I also play on a soccer team.  We have a game today.  My buddies on my soccer team are Alek, Alex, Garrett and Caoiss. And I've made more friends on my soccer team.  I am really good at soccer and I enjoy it.  I like playing soccer with my best friend Alek.  We've won all but one of our games.

Last Saturday we went to the Erickson Reunion at the Stairs Plant.  I like climbing there and playing football there with my brothers and my cousins.  We took family pictures there and had fun.  We ate chicken there.  I also played football with my dad.  

I have been playing football at recess and at school I like doing math and tomorrow I have a Student Led Conference.  I like playing with my friends at their houses and school.  And I also like playing with my brothers.  I really enjoy having school.  I love playing with my cousins and seeing my grandma.  I love playing soccer and football.

August Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  I love going to the cabin!  We went with our cousins Grace & Audrey.  I had fun 4-wheeling. We played in our fort and throwed the baseball.

We went to Seven Peaks Water Park with our friends, the Dailey's.  I had fun going on slides and playing in the water with Paige.  I like going in the wave pool and in the Lazy River and riding a tube down the blue slide and playing on Alligator Island.

School Yeah!  School's Back!!!  I am so excited for math.  I really love math.  I am in the 2nd Grade. My teacher is Mrs. Alsup and she is really nice.  She thinks we are better then her last class she taught.  In my class my friends are Eli, Alek, Troy, Caioss and Brody.  Over the school days we have got lots of compliments for being quite and listening.  At recess I like to play soccer with my buddies.

This month we also went to the cabin with the Dailey's.  It was fun.  We made our own shooting dummy and instead of having s'mores since I took off sugar, I had a grilled peach with cinnamon.  It was DELICIOUS!  I also had fun playing at Aunt Ginger's cabin.  It's like a house.

I have had a really fun time in school.  I love recess and math.  I love playing with my friends and playing with my brothers.

July Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Booyah!!  This has been a great month!!  We went to Oregon to visit our Grandma & Grandpa.  We went on this hike to climb up to a really big waterfall.  It was HUGE!!

I was playing on the rocks on one hike.  We do lots of hikes.  We love it!

We went to the Japanese Gardens.  We saw really cool stuff there.  We saw lots of cool fish.  They were HUGE!!  And also we went to Oregon to visit mom's aunt and uncle.  It was so nice that they let us stay with them and took such good care of us.

On the 4th of July we had a boat parade.  We were dressed up like pirates and our pirate ship was the Black Pearl.  We had so much fun. Our grandpa was the boss of the pirates.  We had fun saying "Arrrr!!" "Shiver me Timbers" and "Ahoy!". 

And also we lit off fireworks for the 4th of July on a little island on the lake behind Grandpa's house. I had so much fun watching.  We had sparklers and they had sugar free popsicles and kool-aid.  I have been taking off sugar for about 3 months.  I like doing it.  

We went to Seaside, to the beach.  We had fun.  We buried each other in the sand.  It was on a kind of cool day.

We also went on hikes while at Seaside.  We saw three HUGE slugs.  My mom was grossed out.  We had fun.  It was nice and cool.  We could see the sea from when we were up high.  

In the morning we got up early and we looked for sand dollars.  We had such a fun time finding sand dollars.  

When we were at Seaside we rented this cool bike. It had four seats where you could pedal and a little seat in the front which I got to ride in.  We had fun riding around the town.  

We went fishing at the cabin and we all caught fish, except mom.  And we cooked them up and ate them and they were delicious!!  And I let my fish go so he could survive.

We have free lunch at the school and like going there.  Today is pizza Friday yeah yeah!!

Right now we have our Walker cousins over.  Yesterday we played dodge ball and Audrey likes to play the game of Life with me.  It's so fun.  I like jumping on the tramp.  I also like to play with my brothers playing LEGOS, soccer, going to the cabin.

June Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello, my name is Kyle Barnhisel.  At the beginning of the month we had field days.  We had so fun getting wet.  After I got three slices of watermelon from my mom.  And at the end of school we had an end of school party.  I had so fun playing with my buddies!!  And it was so fun, we had a giant soccer game and we had a slip 'n slide.

We went to the cabin and we went on our wheelers and we stayed for three days.  We had a big breakfast and it was so yummy!!  I had so much fun!

We had Father's Day.  It was fun.  We had stake conference.  And we made crepes for dad for breakfast and I got a cheat since it was a holiday.  I'm taking off sugar for a year.  I love my father.  He is so nice!

We take lots of hikes.  This one was to Lambs Canyon.  I really like it up there and we were talking about zombies and the zombie apocalypse.  I had so fun being with my dad and my two brothers and my mom.

My brother Brandon is in cross country and I like practicing with him.  I am really fast.  And I like doing it.  I can run forever.  I run 2 miles in less then 20 minutes without stopping at all.

We went bowling with my friends Lily, Alex, and the twins.  I had so fun.  My first game I scored 97. And I won.  The second game Lily won.  I got 2 strikes and a spare.  I had so much fun being with my friends.  I was named Speedy because I run cross-country.

Our 2nd home is the pool.  We spend a lot of time at it.  And I can go off the low and the high dive now!!  I have a friend who can go off both the low and the high dive too.  His name is Alex.  I have so much fun there.

We had two birthday's this month.  Eric's birthday and grandma Norberg's birthday.  Eric turned 10 and Grandma Norberg turned 90. 

I am having a really good summer break.  Summer goes past really fast.

May Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month we celebrated Mother's Day and I had such fun with my mom and my brothers and my dad.  We had a big breakfast for mom.  And in church we sang Mother's Day songs in sacrament meeting.

My season of football ended this month.  I had my best friend Alek on my team.  I had a great time!! I liked my coach and what he taught me.  I got two picks, one was a pick 6!  I want to play flag football again next season.  I had a great season, we had an ultimate flag puller, my friend Max!

Over Memorial weekend we went to Antelope Island.  We were going to go to the cabin but it was too cold and rainy so we decided to go to Antelope Island.  We got to see this really big beach and we got to see buffalos.  And antelope, of course.  I had a really fun time.  Me and Eric climbed together on a mountain.  We were as high as the clouds!!  And we got to see the Great Salt Lake.  There were millions of salt in that.

After we went to Antelope Island we went to the Aerospace Museum.  We got to see planes outside and there was an inside.  It was really big!  We found this cool rocket on the other side of the street.  One of the things I liked was the Jolley Roger.  We also saw some helicopters.  They looked really cool.  

Last week I got a strep throat.  I got a little infection in the back of my neck where I couldn't move my neck.  I had to stay in the hospital to get rid of the infection.  I got my blood drawn two times.  They had to check how much times I peed because they had to see that I was drinking enough water to make sure I wasn't getting dehydrated.  And I got a bed that can move up and down.  It can move my head back and up and it can move my legs up and down.  And I got a table that can move around.  And there was a cafeteria that would make food and bring it up to me.  My mom stayed with me.  And my grandma and dad came to see me.  I had to get a needle stuck into me so they could put the medicine into me.  I got home a day early because the medicine was working and everything was working.  I got to get a few prizes, the game Sorry, the three Ninja Pigs book and I got a word search book.  They had tons of movies that we could pick from.  And they played the movies on an Xbox.  I watched Shrek the Third since we don't have that one.  I am feeling good now.  I think the medicine is working.  The medicine is antibiotics.  On Monday I am going back to school and I am glad to have fresh air and not hospital air.  I am glad to get to see all my friends and family.  I am glad that I am feeling better.  I am having a really good time playing with my friends and playing games.
