December Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  December has been a fun month!  We have a lot of family traditions.  One thing we like to do is go up to Temple Square to see the lights and to see the candy windows.  I think it's really cool and it's all made out of candy!  I would love to eat one of those!  It would be so yummy!

While we were up at Temple Square we also went to the Gallivan Center and went ice skating.  I fell a lot of times but at least I tried.  It was so fun at the Gallivan Center because we got to eat at Grandpa Clark's work party before ice skating.

Another thing we do is go to Gardner Village to see the elves.  Elves are just randomly in places.  It was so fun although I found my name on the Naughty List!  Yikes!

I did a service project where I made peppermint bark and brought it to people who need a pick me up at Christmastime.  We also got a little bit of the peppermint bark so we could eat it.  It was delicious!

I had my school winter concert.  We were supposed to wear a white shirt and dark pants.  I dressed up with a white church shirt and a red tie with school pants.  We sang "Here Comes Santa Claus" and a couple other songs.

We always have a Christmas party at our Aunt Melissa's house.  We eat and have a cousin gift exchange.  What we do is we pick names and we get a gift for that cousin.  I had Tyler and got him a hat.  Tyler had me and got me a football.  At the party we play lots of games and Aunt Melissa always has great prizes for us.  We also played with our toys.  I ate lots of ham.

On Christmas Eve, Grandpa Clark, Grandma Chris, Aunt Amy's family, Uncle Brian & Natalie and Aunt Janeen came to our house.  Grandma gave me one more gift and it was a really cool Nerf gun.  Aunt Amy gave me a cool puzzle.  It is very easy.  We ate there.

Another tradition is we always get to open one present on Christmas Eve.  I got a Broncos blanket with a K on it.  Also on Christmas Eve night we put out cookies for Santa, track Santa on the computer and get to bed early!  We also played with our new puzzles.

On Christmas morning, I got three Star Wars Buildable LEGO sets from Santa!  Also I got lots of Pokemon and me and Eric got lots of Broncos stuff for our new Broncos room.

I got a Broncos sign.

On Christmas day after we opened presents we went and shoveled for the widows in the ward and then went to church.  That evening we went to a Nursing home and played Christmas songs for them.  I played "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel".  It was nice to do that for them.

Over Christmas break we went up to our cabin and sledded with our cousins Waylon, Cole and Kaylee.  We hung out at Aunt Ginger's cabin for part of the time and traded Pokemon cards with Cole.  It was super fun to be up there in the winter.  At the cabin we got stuck in the snow and dad had to dig the truck out.  We brought all the stuff into our cabin by pulling sleds from the truck out at the road.  The snow was so deep.  We built snow fortresses and had a snow ball fight.  I made a snow angel.

For New Years Eve we went over to our friends the Russell's house and had a party.  We ate pizza, brownies, ice cream, hot chocolate and played video games and Pie Face Show Down.

I'm looking forward to turning 9 in 2017.  I can't wait for the new year!

November Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  November has been super great with lots of activities.

It was so fun at Grandma Chris' Thanksgiving party.  We ate dinner and played with cousins and also got which cousin we get to buy a Christmas present for.  I got Tyler.

We went to Mesa Verde on our way to Los Alamos, New Mexico for Thanksgiving.  We stopped there to look at some cool ancient buildings called Pueblos.  I am actually learning about them in school right now and am working on a report about the South Western Native Americans.  I was in charge of researching shelter for my group.  Mesa Verde was super cool.  I still don't know how they got down to their villages if they are in mountains and the mountains are flat.  We could've got to explore the Pueblos but they are closed for the winter.

We also stopped for a bit in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  We went on a little walk to check out the hot springs and found a big, gigantic chess board.  Eric and I had a match and I got checkmated by him.  I still took a lot of his pieces.  It was a fun experience playing on a gigantic chess board.

We were going to Los Alamos to visit out cousins the Sintay's.  It was so fun!  We played games and we also played Super Smash Bros Brawl.  For Thanksgiving we had a large meal with lots of different kinds of food.  We also went to go watch the movie "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".  We had Turkey Bowl (football).

When we were at the Sintay's we went to Bandelier National Monument which was kind of like Mesa Verde with lots of Pueblos and cliff dwellings.  We also got to climb into a lot of them on large ladders.  One of the climbs was 140 feet up.  And we had to climb up ladders to get there!  It was super fun!!

We also helped decorate their Christmas tree.  They said we should only decorate it with red and gold ornaments.  After it was done we admired our great work!

We wrote our Santa lists at the Sintay's house with our cousins.  On my Santa list I didn't know what I wanted to ask for so I said I'd leave it up to him to give me my present.

Once we got home, we celebrated dad's birthday and did our own Christmas decorating.  Our Christmas tree has lots of colors and we have lots of Christmas decorations.  We even took a picture with Sky (Eric's parakeet) on the Christmas tree.  She's a really fun bird.

We also got new rooms because of our coming baby brother Sam.  Eric & I are bunked in what used to be Brandon's room.  Eric has the top bunk and I have the lower bunk.  We each have our own lamp so we can read at night.  Our new room has gray walls, orange curtains and blue bedding.  It is a Broncos room!  My brother Brandon has moved into what used to be my room and he has a BYU room!  Baby Sam will be moving into what was Eric's room.

Goodbye for now.  I hope you had a great November.

October Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  I can't believe that October is over.  The year has gone by so quick.  Today is Halloween and I am so excited.

We carved pumpkins for Halloween.  My pumpkin had diamond eyes, a triangle nose and a smiley mouth.  It also had some hair.  We grew our own pumpkins this year.  Dad's was the largest.  We had a pumpkin that had the name SAM carved into it.  We carved SAM into a pumpkin because we are going to have a baby called Sam!

My costume is a police officer.  I have a lot of accessories.

My dad was a cop also, my partner.  The whole rest of my family were robbers.  We had a lot of fun at our family Halloween party.  We played some games that Aunt Cindy planned for us.  We ate cake and other stuff.  Our party was very fun!

We had a Halloween party at school today, on Halloween.  It was very fun.  Our class made Troll Mix using math equations.  We also read Halloween stories.  We went to the two other 3rd grade classes and did activities there.  One activity I really loved was where we did a science experiment where we had water, dry ice and dish soap and made a bubble.  The way we did it was we put the dry ice into the water then went over the edge of the beaker with soap on our hands.  In the other class, we made Halloween fortune tellers.  That was fun also.  My fortune teller was a black cat.

Halloween was so fun! I went trick-or-treating with my friend Alex (and my dad).  I got lots of candy!  The candy that I wanted the most of was Reese's and I got a ton of them!  We went on a long route and stayed out for almost three hours.  Somebody in our neighborhood gives out hot chocolate and homemade doughnuts.  I also wanted a lot of Butterfingers and I got lots.  This Halloween was so fun with lots of activities!

Bye!  I hope you had a fun Halloween.

September Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This September has been a fun September.  It is full of activities, fun activities.  We've been overflowing with activities.  My favorite subject in school is Math ... the beautiful math!!  I have one of the best teachers: Mrs Zimmerman, the wonderful Mrs Zimmerman!!  Her husband Mr Zimmerman came in and taught us about reptiles.  I have pretty much always got all A's.

Cabin ... the beautiful cabin!  We went to our cabin over Labor Day weekend.  It was fun.  We found out that we are having a baby in March.  I like to ride dump trucks down the hill at the cabin.  I also like to play at our fort we made.  Also, roast marshmallows and drive the 4-wheelers.

We were the Goldfish soccer team.  We were 7-1.  We won 7 times and lost once.  Our team was really good.  My friends Damian, Alek and Alex were all on my team.  We lost on the last game, a heartbreaker, 0-1.  Most of the games we won about 10-0 so this last game was a super hard one.

I can't wait for our baby in March.  I spent a lot of time this month watching my brothers run cross-country for the school.  They did awesome!  Our school is undefeated, both boys and girls.  State is next week.  Bye-bye!

August Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  For the last few weeks of summer vacation I played with my friends and played soccer and played with my brothers and ran at summer running club.  And I played video games and I played LEGOs and I played fun other stuff.

I was so excited to go back to school.  I am in 3rd grade. My teacher is Mrs. Zimmerman and she is super nice. Third grade is really fun.  I like to play soccer with all my friends.  I like that the math is harder and actually is a challenge.  And I like that the other subjects are good for me too.

My fall soccer season started up.  My coach is my friend Alex's dad, Trevor.  Our team is really good. I think it's good.  The fields are good because they are bigger.  We had our first game last weekend and we won 5-0.  I think it's going to be a really fun soccer season!

Summer has been such a fun time.  And school is fun too!  I can't wait for the whole rest of the year which tons of fun activities.  Ok bye.

July Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month I did summer soccer for the first time.  It was fun playing against teams that were a challenge.  I played up in a higher division but we still beat all the other teams.  We lost one against a really good team but then we came back at the end of the season and beat them.  It was fun playing soccer with all my buddies.  I knew everyone on the team.

We went on a 4th of July hike to Lake Mary.  It was fun climbing rocks and hiking around. I found a cool fortress.  And then we went to the Brighton parade where people would ride around and through candy to us.  I helped some of my younger cousins get candy.

We had a BBQ at our house that night with lots of our cousins.  It was really fun to eat and play with my cousins!

Also for the 4th of July we shot off fireworks.  It was really cool watching the fireworks and fun to light some fireworks.  And the smoke bombs were fun!

I had my first cub camp this month.  It was really fun hiking and doing other fun stuff like archery and we did an obstacle course and lots of other fun stuff.  It was super fun!

It was fun going to Lagoon with my cousins the Walker's.  It was fun going on the Cannibal and going on a bunch of rides.  I like the bumper cars a lot!

Our family is really cause Eric got a pet parakeet.  Her name is Sky.  I like putting her on my arm and having her crawl up to my shoulder and down my back.  It's really fun.  We love to put her on the windowsill and watch her try to chase cars.  It's really fun having her walk around when we play in Eric's room.

This month we had our O'Berry reunion at Grandpa Pat's house in Lovell, Wyoming.

We went on a boat tour and then played in the water.  We had this cool raft that we loved to ride around on.  It was fun swimming around and playing with my cousins!

We went to Billings to Uncle Ed's house.  We played some games and then we went out to do cousin races and O'Berry Ninja Warriors.  We would go through an obstacle course and do some different races. And then we did this really weird dance and did s'mores.

We went to Porcupine Falls as part of the reunion.  It was fun climbing and finding cool caves.  We found a cave that went super deep through the mountain all the way to the top of the mountain.  My dad, brothers and some cousins cliff dived into the water.  It was really funny watching them!

I thought the reunion was really good and I want to thank my Grandpa for making the reunion.

I can't wait for school to start up next month.  It's been a really fun summer.  Bye!
