December Letter

Dear Family & Friends, 

Hello.  This is Kyle.  And have you had a Merry Christmas?  And a Happy New Year?  In December I did lots of fun things during Christmas.  And I went to Gardner Village and we had fun.  We also decorated cookies for our friends and decorated them for us.  We made gingerbread mans.  We did a advent calendar that showed how many days until Christmas and we started it when it was 24 days until Christmas.

I went to the temple and I hope that you see all the lights that they had someday.  And have you seen the temple before?  I had a fun time at the temple.

In December we got lots of snow and me and Eric builded a snowman.  I even played with Peter and did a snowball fights, even with my brothers.  Even we rided the 4-wheeler with the sled attached to the back. We had a fun time.  I wish that you will have another big storm that you can make a snowman in.

I had a fun time at Aunt Melissa's.  And we got to see Santa a course.  And have you ever seen Santa before?  We ate there and we even played there and got a present from our cousins.  I got a awesome gun!

I had a fun time at Christmas morning.  I even got Despicable Me 2.  I got one gun and a big pack of bullets. I got tons of Skylanders and me and Eric and Brandon all got Skylanders Swap Force.  And my favorite guy is Terrafin.  Even I got a candy cane with M a M's in it.

I had a fun time at our party on Christmas night.  I even got a stocking from Grandma Chris, full with candy of course.  Even in it I got some money from Grandma.  Grandpa Pat was here with us for Christmas.  He slept until Christmas morning with us.

I had a fun time at the Ice Castle.  There was lots of caves that you could go through.  And it was made out of ice and it was awesome.

We had a New Years Eve party at our house and we ate s'mores that we cooked over a fire in our backyard.  Our party was just our family.  We watched Turbo.

I am having a fun time at karate.  Over Christmas break I played in the snow for a couple of days.  I have had a fun time doing the Wii over my break from school.

November Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  We celebrated daddy's birthday.  We had a fun time.  And we all ate cake and he got to open his present.  We got to watch dad play his birthday present and it was Batman 2.  And we had a fun time celebrating daddy's birthday.  Me and mommy worked to make him a sign and we had the paper and then we glued on words ... we had a really fun time doing it.

I went to Turkey Bowl and watched Eric & Brandon & Dad.  And dad sacked the quarterback and Eric got a touchdown and Brandon got an interception.  I like when Brandon, he tackled someone.  And Eric.  I liked watching them do Turkey Bowl.

We went to Thanksgiving and we went to Grandma's house.  Then after we had dinner at Grandma's house we went to Grandma Norberg's and we had a fun time at both of the Grandma's.

We went to the Utes game.  We had lots of snacks and I liked when the Utes scored a touchdown.  I like how they are so good at scoring touchdowns.  And the Utes game was awesome!!!

One other thing that we did this month was we went to a Utah Jazz game and got to sit in a suite. Dave and the boys like to watch a show called Overhaulin where they make over people's cars.  At the end, before they reveal the car, the host asks the person "Are you ready for your life to change?" So that is Dave's new little thing he says to the boys when we take them to something new and fun. At the end of the Jazz game Kyle said "Ah yeah ... Dad that was awesome!  My life has changed!!"  He then said "I just had an idea.  I am going to do that with my kids when I'm the dad."  It was so cute!

One day, Kyle had his friends Peter and Alex over playing.  Kyle said they should go outside and jump on the tramp.  Alex said no, it's too cold.  Kyle said "We like cold, that's what we like.  Because I was born in the rain."  Not sure where that one came from??

Another time, Kyle and Peter were playing.  They had just sat down to play Apples to Apples.  Kyle went through this long explanation ... explaining this cool new way of playing that he had made up for the two of them.  They went to start playing and then they looked at each other and Kyle says "Oh ... we don't know how to read."  And that was that ... they scrapped the game. :)

I'm Kyle.  I am a kindergartner.  And I like when I get to go back home and watch games from the Broncos!

October Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This is Kyle. This month I went to the beach in California.  I like collecting seashells and going swimming at there.  Mom & Dad wanted to bring us to the beach because we are doing so good in school.

And I went Disneyland for three days.  And I went on Pirates and I went on tons of cart rides.  And I liked going to all the shops and my favorite thing was when I went into the Haunted House because it was so fun and haunted and it was funny.

At Disneyland I went to Jedi Training.  I got to train with Jedi's and I fighted Darth Vadar.  I did the duck and weave that I learned in Karate.

We had a family Halloween party.  I dressed up as Johnny from Hotel Transylvania.  Dad was Dracula and mom was Mavis and Brandon was the wolfman and Eric was Frankenstein.  We ate doughnuts by eating them by a string.  We celebrated Brandon's birthday.  And we got to eat the cake.  

And I trick-or-treated.  I was a knight for Halloween.  And we had fun trick-or-treating.  Me and Alex trick-or-treated together and we were both knights and it was fun.  I got tons of candy.  And then we put out our candy to see what we had.  And we got to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".  

At school.  I like doing math and homework.  Goodbye.  I hope you will get into school someday.

September Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This is Kyle.  And this is me at the picture place.  And we all took pictures like our whole entire family and one of us just alone.  All of us just did our own pictures and did a whole entire family picture and some just me, Brandon & Eric.  It was fun!  And I hope when you go to the picture place you have fun.

This is me at the cabin.  And we like going to grandma Jinx' cabin because it was fun and we got to play with our cousins Sean & Kate.  I like to go to Aunt Ginger's cabin.  She's my aunt.  It's fun because she does lots of stuff for us.  We like to play with Weylan and Cole and Kaylee.

We went to the Rendezvous and we walked around seeing the cool stuff they have there.  I saw these darts and these little cool guns.  I hope when you go to the Rendezvous you will have a fun time.

We went to the lake to fish.  And the lake was fun to fish at.  And I caught 2 rainbow fishes.  And Brandon caught one and Eric caught one.  And we had a fun time at it.  We cooked up the fish and then we ate them. And we had a fun time there.  I hope when you go fishing you will have a fun time and you will catch lots of fish.

I am in kindergarten and I like to play with my friends Caoiss and Aiden and Wyatt.  We like to play freeze tag at recess.  I like doing my name board.  You have to write your name, there's a little tracer that you do and then you have to write it without the tracer.  And I have to write the numbers with the tracing board and then you have to write them without the tracing board.  And then I have to do my C's my O's and my lines.  And I hope when you go to kindergarten you will have a fun time and you will make friends.

August Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  We had our Norberg and it was fun.  We did bubbles and played at the park and it was fun.  And I had a great time. I hope when you go you will have a fun time.

Grandpa Don came down with us to watch the car show and it was awesome.  I hope when you go to the car show you will have a fun time.

This is me at school on my first day of school and it was fun.  And mom and dad took me for lunch and I had fun at Hawthorn Academy.  I hope when you go to Hawthorn or another school you will have fun and will like your teacher.  Kindergarten was the funnest day of school and we got to have fun with Ms. Z.  And we could play puzzles and we have a little playground to play at.  My friend at Hawthorn, I like to play with him and his name is Cais.  And it was fun.  I hope when you go to Kindergarten or another grade you will have fun.

Chunky waited with me to go to school my first day.  And he's my pet dog and we play with him and we liked to take him on walks and we liked to fetch with him.  And Chunky likes to go out on walks.  And I hope when you have a dog you will play fun with him.

I am into playing HERO factories and Minecraft.  And I like to play with Peter and Alex and Haley and Cais.  I hope you have some friends and you play with them.

July Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hewwo.  Goodbye.  Just kidding. :)  Summertime is the greatest day and I love 4th of July.  We had fun and we did the parade and I got 15 hundred candy!!  And it was a very great time.  And I would like to see your letter and how you like 4th of July.

We had snow cones at our 4th of July BBQ (thanks to our neighbor).  We did fireworks and our neighbor did fireworks and our cousins came and I had a great time and we had snow cones and bomb pops and I had a great time.  I had four snow cones and two bomb pops.  We got to do the Jolly Roger and their little tanks that we got to do and it was a fun time.  And I hope you have a 4th of July party.  And we did sparklers.  

Me, Peter and Alex were just riding our bikes at our neighborhood bike parade.  And me and Peter and Alex all got 2nd.  And we had otter pops at our house at the end.  And I had three popsicles and it was a great time.

This is my cousins and me going bowling with Marcus, Miriam, Vivi and 'Melia.  And we had a great time bowling.  And then we went to Arctic Circle and we had fun there.  We had a sleep over with them while they were here visiting.  And it was a great time since we all watched shows together and we had fun and it was a great time.  I hope you go bowling sometimes.

I got my gold belt and it was at karate and my teacher is named Master Jeon and we have a great time together and I am the bestest yeller in my class.  And belt ceremony was fun.  And I liked it since it was fun.  I hope you go to karate someday.

We went to Seven Peaks.  It was a great time.  And I got to play in the wave pool and it was fun.  We also go swimming a lot at the pool by our house.  And I hope you go to Seven Peaks one time.

I like playing with Peter and Alex and Haley.  And playing with my friend Aiden at the gym.  And we always have fun times together.  We go to the pool and it's a great time.  And mostly every day my brothers go to the pool, Brandon & Eric.

June Letter

Dear Family & Friends, 

My name is Kyle.  I got to go to Eric's school Field Day.  And we had blankets and we had a sponge and we throwed it onto another blanket and we kept doing it.  And we got to golf, like mini golfing.  And we hit the balls into this little circle bucket.  And Peter was there with me for part of it.  And we got to play volleyball and make puzzles.  And we did an obstacle course.  

And we had summer break.  We had a End of School party.  We had pizza and we had M&Ms and cookies and fishy gummies.  There were sprinklers under the tramp and the Danielson's brought a little pool. It was awesome!!  We had a good time.  It was fun and I hope you had a good time.

My mom loves flowers!

And I love going to the pool.  And I had some goggles for one day and I lost them.  We checked in the lost and found and we didn't find them.  I like going to the line and trying different feet like I go farther until it goes to my neck.  I can go all the way to the line and that's really deep.  And my brother got two water guns.  His name is Eric.

For Father's Day we had a good time.  We went to church and we went for a climb at the mountains and we had lobster and meat for our dinner.  I really like him because he's funny and I really love him since we love playing together and playing monster.  And I love my dad because I like having fun with him.

When it was Eric's birthday party we had so much fun.  We got to whack the pinata.

And we got to decorate cupcakes.  We had Sprite and root beer for the drinks.  And we go'd upstairs and played Pokemon and I just kept sorting my Pokemon.  We invited Ben & Kendall Foust, Liam, Karley, and Kade.

And that night we went to the Wards campout.  We ate cake at the wards campout.  And we ate oreos and cookies and chips.  What else did we have that wasn't junk?  (Kyle just ate junk.)  And we roasted smores. And the friends over there the Danielson's and the Orme's and AJ and the Ward's.  We had a big fire.

We also got to play around and fight swords and play baseball.

I love like going to Peter's house and Alex's house and sometimes Haley's.  And I like going to the gym.  And I am in Karate and I am really talent at that.  And I am an orange belt and I am getting my next belt in 2 weeks.  And thank you ... Bye.  This is Kyle.

May Letter

Dear Family & Friends, 

Hello.  How are you doing?  Good?  This is me on "mudders" day.  My name is Kyle.  What is your name?  We singed to mom on "mudders" day at church. 

We had a carnival for preschool and what treats I had was Cotton Candy!  I had fishing, I got to throw sponges at "duckses" and they fall over and you get a pencil.  At the carnival the clown blows balloons and I got a pirates sword.  Next I had Graduation.  I had a great time.  We set down with our hats and then we got this little skirt thingy on us.  And we got two of these little circled papers (diplomas).  We ate monster cupcakes and tons of treats.

Hello ... this is me at the cabin.  And I went fishing and I caught a fish.  And I threw footballs and I went "4-wheelering".  We went on a big trail and we were looking for cows and we didn't find any.  And it was still a fun time because Chunky went running and chasing stuff.  And he saw a bird.  And we went with Uncle Darren and Aunt Cindy and Koen, Tyler, Jackson & Dylan and Uncle Brian and "Wydia".  And with dad and you, mom.

I just graduated and I like playing with HERO factories and I like playing with Peter.  And I like playing with my cards.  And I like playing with Alex and "Hawey".  And I like playing at the park.  And I like playing with "Hawey" at the park.  And I like playing at my house with "Hawey" and Alex and Peter.  And I used to be in preschool but now it's summer time and we are having a big party.  I want to play night games and I want to play kickball, dodge ball, stuff like that in the summer.

Dave & I spend a lot of time trying to teach our boys the difference between a privilege and a right so that they learn to appreciate what they are given.  We also must mention often enough that we didn't have all the things when we were kids that they have.  One day while driving Kyle asked me "Mom, were you ever a girl scout before?"  I told him no.  He said "Oh, that's because you didn't have any privileges."

Kyle started martial arts this month.  He LOVES it!!  One morning he told me "I don't want to be a policeman anymore when I grow up.  I want to me a "minja" and teach martial arts."

One day, out of the blue, Kyle asked me if I was ever a police officer.  I chuckled and told him no.  He then asked me "What were you when you grew up?  I thought you had to be someone when you grew up."  I guess I am not something cool enough for a 5 year old.

Kyle asked me one day "Why can't I look at my eyeballs?  Oh ... because I am my eyeballs!"

April Letter

Dear Family & Friends, 

Hi.  I hope you had a good sleep.  This is Kyle.  Every letter I say that to start out.  And this is me hiking ... it really is me.  I was in Zions.  

While hiking Kyle said "My legs are running out of energy".  And later "I can't hike anymore because I am all out of air."

This is me hiking in Bryce Canyon.  And there are tons of caves up there to play in.  And I liked it!  There was tons of cool rocks to see.  

My first birthday party when I just turned 5.  We brang some cupcakes and we went to Cafe Rio for lunch with the Danielson's.  So it was Alex, Jace, Kade, baby Eric, Rachel and Trevor.  And then we went to Planet Play.  And that was my second time to go there ... on my 5th birthday.  And it had tons of video games and my favorite is Laser Tag!! 

This is me ... Kyle!  I had a friend party and their names were Haley, Peter and Alex.  And we decorated cookie pops and we ate them.  

So this is me ... Kyle and my mom ... Shanna.  We made a cake out of cupcakes.  The cupcakes were shaped into a K.  This was at our family party.  My family who came to the party are:  Sean, Kate, Jadon, Tyler and Koen, Lizzie & Joe, Grandma, Aunt Melissa and Aunt Cindy.  

So I got presents.  So Aunt Melissa gave me a cool guitar.  And mom & dad gave me a Zune.  And Aunt Cindy gave me all these new shirts and new shorts.  My Zune, I got it for my birthday.  You like get to like really, you know, you can listen to the songs.  And I want to talk about all my favorites.  So I like Haunted, and I like one of the police officer chasing the animals.  And I like the Spanish one.  And there is another Spanish one that I like.  And I like um "Calling the Guardians", "Fanfare of the Elves", and I like "Unicorns I Love Them, Unicorns I Love Them".  And I like "I'm Having A Bad Bad Day".  And I like the Star Wars.  I like "Thriller".

So what school do you go to? ... and my name's Kyle.  And the one who is one of my friends who goes to my school is Peter.  And my favorite friend to play outside with is another boy ... I'll ask him his name.  My teacher, Mr. Tyler kicked a ball onto the roof.  I like the friend who I don't know his name, I like to get on a bike and I'm red and the other team's yellow and I try to capture him.  It's like police officers and robbers.  And when I always get home I always listen to my Zune.

Funny things that Kyle said this month:

Whenever Kyle doesn't do what he is asked to do he tells me "I just need to buy a new mind so I can remember because this one is just not a good one."

One day while Kyle and I were laying down for our afternoon nap he said "I like being in this family.  I forgot to tell you this when I was born because they took my memories.  Why do they take my memories of living in Jesus' kingdom?"

Kyle is very into money these days.  He doesn't care about dollar bills though, he is most interested in coins, especially pennies which he sometimes calls "Goldens".  One day Kyle and I were driving to the dentist and he got talking about money and how much things cost and said "Cars cost like $200 and ten pennies, that's like a rip off.  If it's so expensive then I would just have to walk everywhere.  Like walk to the gym and to restaurants ... everywhere!"
