April Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  This month I have been in soccer and this day was when I scored 3 goals!  And my team name is the Thunderbolts.  On this team there is me and Alex and Peter and Kylee and Sophie and Garrett and Taylor and some others.  I have been scoring lots of goals this month.  And I am like the fastest kid on my team. And I have been scoring in my whole entire thing, 8 goals!!

When we had Spring Break we got to go to Lava Hot Springs.  First we saw when we were going to Lava Hot Springs we saw this little pool that was private so we could go in there.  And this was a bad thing that happened.  Brandon accidentally pulled me into the deep part and I drownded but then dad pulled me out. Lava Hot Springs was fun.  We went to this indoor pool that was super fun and there was even a really really really hot tub.  And at Lava Hot Springs there were rocks on the floors but some pools just had rocks that were flat.

Birthday party!!!!  This is all my friends I've listed on my birthday party:  Garrett, Alex, Alek, Jesse, Caioss and Peter.  Mom got us a bouncy house and mom got us a chocolate fountain!!  And mom made some little chick things that you could dip in the chocolate fountain and marshmallows and pretzels and oreos.  I turned SIX years old!

Easter Egg Hunt!!!  This April we had a Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Melissa's.  I choose a soccer ball pattern so I had to find the soccer balls and we each got a golden egg.  And then for the 2nd round we got to find just plain eggs and then we had another Easter Egg hunt at our house and it had Easter M&M's and jelly beans.

We celebrated my birthday with the family at the Easter party.  It was so fun.  I got this LEGO set and I got bath toys.  And I got a Aquabot.

We did painting Easter eggs and I kept just using colors and painting it over one egg and we could eat them and they were kinda weird ... but I don't really like them.

We celebrate Easter because it was the day when Jesus Christ had resurrection.  Jesus teached everyone about him and He was the son of God and God knew he would be the King of the Jews.

I went to belt test and I earned my brown belt.  What I had to do to earn my brown belt is first: kicks; second: kick boxing "patterin"; third: front kick combo.

This April we had a Fun Run at the school.  We had to go 4 laps around the back yard of the school and then we could be free to EAT!!  Eric did the 5K and there was a little accident, he runned around part of it 2 times.

March Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month we went to the St. Patricks Day Parade.  And we got these green necklace and we got these green hats, leprechaun hats.  I had this sparkly disco hat.  Eric had this long cat in the hat hat.  And Brandon just had a hat with a leprechaun thing that goes on it.  I saw lots of flags and horses and dogs.  It was kinda cold but it still had sunshine and sun.  We went to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe after the parade which helped us warm up.

For breakfast we had green milk and green pancakes. And that night we had a cupcake and a leprechaun was sneaking around and put chocolate coins in our cupcakes.

I go to school and I am a five year old and I do Kindergarten.  And my name is Kyle!  And my teacher is Ms. Z and my helper is Mrs. K which does math at centers.  Sometimes we do tests on math and my last name is Barnhisel.  And one of the helpers is my mom that sometimes does computers with us to help us. And sometimes Izzy's mom helps with centers.  And sometimes Parker's mom helps with centers.  And my best friend at school is Caioss and Alek.

Brandon sometimes plays chess with me, and Eric.  And I am going to tell you this funny time.  Eric was like really close to beating me but then suddenly I beat him!  It was so funny!  Eric likes to jump on the tramp with me, and Brandon.  And sometimes dad.  And sometimes Eric plays with me with his LEGOs.  In the front yard, sometimes we play kickball and we gather up a lot of kids.  And sometimes we like to shoot hoops.  I throw the ball to them if I get it.

February Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This month we celebrated Thanksgiving Valentine's Day.  On Thanksgiving day ... ahhh Valentine's Day we had heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and before Valentine's day we made hearts and wrote on them why we love our brothers.  And we will stick them on their door.  And we had pancakes with syrup and powdered sugar and chocolate chips.  And on that day we had to write three valentines why we love our brothers.

On Valentine's day we had a school party and at the centers we painted flowers with celery and we did froot loop necklaces and we ate at the yummy table.  And we did math at the last center.  And we did valentines, we gave lots of treats to every bag.

We had to give away Chunky this month.  We had to give away Chunky because my dad was allergic to dogs.  And because my dad just couldn't handle all of Chunky's barking.  It was sad but we had to because we want other people in our family to not be always not happy, in our family.  And Chunky was a good dog but I love my dad more then Chunky.

I am a five year old and I'm a kindergardener and my teacher is Ms. Z and Mrs. K.  And some of my friends at school are Caioss and Ayden and Wyatt and Blake and Alex and Alek and Evey and Parker and Ruby. My sport is karate.  I'm a blue belt, the sixth belt.  And I am learning do song yan and I am learning hook punches.  And I am going to do soccer in April.  And my birthday is on April 17th.  And goodbye.  I hope one day you will get into a sport.

January Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Happy New Year.  On New Years Day we went sledding with Aunt Amy & Ian and our cousins Jadon, Tyler & Koen.  One time I went off a jump and one time when I was going off  the jump my face hit the ground and it made a little crack sound on the snow.  I didn't get hurt but it was fun going down that jump. And I went with my family, Brandon, Eric and my mom and my dad.

Another thing I did this month is I went tubing with my family.  It had a little bit jumps but they wouldn't like jump you up in the air, they would like go up and down up and down up and down like that.  It was fun going all together because we spinned around.  Dad was in the middle, he grabbed all our strings, then he would like push us and then we would like go and we spinned around.  It was fun!  

This month I went to karate and it was my belt test so I got my blue belt.  And all of the little dragons got to demonstrate something.  And one time the purple belts got to demonstrate something.  And the higher belts then blue they did this little demo and they were like a brown belt and I sitted by my friends Conner and Benjamin.  I'm learning how to jump and kick but you are switching legs.  I am learning jump front kicks but you are running.  I am also learning choke defense.  And one time I got to do dragon tag and I got everyone out.  Then it was everyone against me but I still didn't get out.  Conner was almost going to get me but I ran faster and then Benjamin tried to get me but I ran faster.  And then all of the rest of the karate kids tried to get me, like Peyton tried to get me and I ran faster so and then Paxton tried to get me and I ran faster so none of them could even touch my belt for one second.  Now I also get to do a gymnastics class at karate.  I get to a kartwheel but it's a different way then just moving sideways.  You start forward and then when you lift your leg off  the ground you turn your body and do the kartwheel sideways but they you have to land forward facing the way you came from.  I learned that but then we had to do a one armed kartwheel.  For one armed kartwheels you do the same thing but one arm has to be behind you back and one arm has to be on your ears.  And for a zero armed kartwheel you have to run and then jump and do a kartwheel in the air with your feet.  Master Jeon showed us how to do that but it will take a lot of practice to learn to do a zero armed kartwheel with no arms.

I am a kindergartener and I am five years old and my teacher is Ms. Z and Mrs. K.  And Caoiss goes to my school and we have a secret passageway that goes to his neighborhood.  At school we have been having indoor recess and Eric has sometimes outdoor recess on the blacktop.  And in our classroom we have journals we have to do, weather journals we have to do, math papers we have to do, and name boards we have to do.  And we have to do our math if we have any and our science journal.  It's a journal, we are making a little book in it and there are calendars and you have to trace the days and trace the letters and then she'll tell us the colors, like green blue purple or blue purple green and sometimes we have to red green. And we have to our alphabet journal where you have to write the letters and you have to do stuff that starts with A or P or C.  And we have to write pictures that start with the letter A like ax and B is for like banana and C is kind of for chip.  And at recess we can do puzzles, we could do these little blocks and make robots and we could read a book, we can do lolli lollipop game.  And outdoor recess if we are ever going to do that we play freeze tag, we go off the slide, we play tag, we play duck duck goose and we play a racing game where when they say ship then you have to run and whoever gets there first gets to say ship.

December Letter

Dear Family & Friends, 

Hello.  This is Kyle.  And have you had a Merry Christmas?  And a Happy New Year?  In December I did lots of fun things during Christmas.  And I went to Gardner Village and we had fun.  We also decorated cookies for our friends and decorated them for us.  We made gingerbread mans.  We did a advent calendar that showed how many days until Christmas and we started it when it was 24 days until Christmas.

I went to the temple and I hope that you see all the lights that they had someday.  And have you seen the temple before?  I had a fun time at the temple.

In December we got lots of snow and me and Eric builded a snowman.  I even played with Peter and did a snowball fights, even with my brothers.  Even we rided the 4-wheeler with the sled attached to the back. We had a fun time.  I wish that you will have another big storm that you can make a snowman in.

I had a fun time at Aunt Melissa's.  And we got to see Santa a course.  And have you ever seen Santa before?  We ate there and we even played there and got a present from our cousins.  I got a awesome gun!

I had a fun time at Christmas morning.  I even got Despicable Me 2.  I got one gun and a big pack of bullets. I got tons of Skylanders and me and Eric and Brandon all got Skylanders Swap Force.  And my favorite guy is Terrafin.  Even I got a candy cane with M a M's in it.

I had a fun time at our party on Christmas night.  I even got a stocking from Grandma Chris, full with candy of course.  Even in it I got some money from Grandma.  Grandpa Pat was here with us for Christmas.  He slept until Christmas morning with us.

I had a fun time at the Ice Castle.  There was lots of caves that you could go through.  And it was made out of ice and it was awesome.

We had a New Years Eve party at our house and we ate s'mores that we cooked over a fire in our backyard.  Our party was just our family.  We watched Turbo.

I am having a fun time at karate.  Over Christmas break I played in the snow for a couple of days.  I have had a fun time doing the Wii over my break from school.

November Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  We celebrated daddy's birthday.  We had a fun time.  And we all ate cake and he got to open his present.  We got to watch dad play his birthday present and it was Batman 2.  And we had a fun time celebrating daddy's birthday.  Me and mommy worked to make him a sign and we had the paper and then we glued on words ... we had a really fun time doing it.

I went to Turkey Bowl and watched Eric & Brandon & Dad.  And dad sacked the quarterback and Eric got a touchdown and Brandon got an interception.  I like when Brandon, he tackled someone.  And Eric.  I liked watching them do Turkey Bowl.

We went to Thanksgiving and we went to Grandma's house.  Then after we had dinner at Grandma's house we went to Grandma Norberg's and we had a fun time at both of the Grandma's.

We went to the Utes game.  We had lots of snacks and I liked when the Utes scored a touchdown.  I like how they are so good at scoring touchdowns.  And the Utes game was awesome!!!

One other thing that we did this month was we went to a Utah Jazz game and got to sit in a suite. Dave and the boys like to watch a show called Overhaulin where they make over people's cars.  At the end, before they reveal the car, the host asks the person "Are you ready for your life to change?" So that is Dave's new little thing he says to the boys when we take them to something new and fun. At the end of the Jazz game Kyle said "Ah yeah ... Dad that was awesome!  My life has changed!!"  He then said "I just had an idea.  I am going to do that with my kids when I'm the dad."  It was so cute!

One day, Kyle had his friends Peter and Alex over playing.  Kyle said they should go outside and jump on the tramp.  Alex said no, it's too cold.  Kyle said "We like cold, that's what we like.  Because I was born in the rain."  Not sure where that one came from??

Another time, Kyle and Peter were playing.  They had just sat down to play Apples to Apples.  Kyle went through this long explanation ... explaining this cool new way of playing that he had made up for the two of them.  They went to start playing and then they looked at each other and Kyle says "Oh ... we don't know how to read."  And that was that ... they scrapped the game. :)

I'm Kyle.  I am a kindergartner.  And I like when I get to go back home and watch games from the Broncos!

October Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  This is Kyle. This month I went to the beach in California.  I like collecting seashells and going swimming at there.  Mom & Dad wanted to bring us to the beach because we are doing so good in school.

And I went Disneyland for three days.  And I went on Pirates and I went on tons of cart rides.  And I liked going to all the shops and my favorite thing was when I went into the Haunted House because it was so fun and haunted and it was funny.

At Disneyland I went to Jedi Training.  I got to train with Jedi's and I fighted Darth Vadar.  I did the duck and weave that I learned in Karate.

We had a family Halloween party.  I dressed up as Johnny from Hotel Transylvania.  Dad was Dracula and mom was Mavis and Brandon was the wolfman and Eric was Frankenstein.  We ate doughnuts by eating them by a string.  We celebrated Brandon's birthday.  And we got to eat the cake.  

And I trick-or-treated.  I was a knight for Halloween.  And we had fun trick-or-treating.  Me and Alex trick-or-treated together and we were both knights and it was fun.  I got tons of candy.  And then we put out our candy to see what we had.  And we got to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".  

At school.  I like doing math and homework.  Goodbye.  I hope you will get into school someday.
